After a long day of working in the yard and doing other spring cleaning, I felt pretty good. Sure, it was the first exercise I’d had all week, since I’d been stuck at my desk or in my car for most of it, but it felt good to be moving and putting some muscle (such as it is) into my work. That’s a satisfying feeling. I went to bed very happy with the progress I made and slept soundly.
This morning, I woke up, stretched and felt the muscles in my back voice only a minor complaint. Not bad, I thought. I figured I’d be much more sore.
I jumped up, made coffee and opened the window to let in some spring air. I sneezed.
And threw out my back.
